About the lab

The lab is a part of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine at West Virginia University, located at the Ruby Memorial Hospital Health Science Center in beautiful Morgantown, WV.

We specialize in the biochemical and biophysical characterization of phospholipid bilayers (lipids and membrane proteins).

Within this general interest in membrane biology, we focus on elucidating the nanomechanics of membrane trafficking and fusion in mammalian cells.

The lab uses a multidisciplinary approach to answer biological questions with emphasis on recombinant protein purification and reconstitution, in combination with cell biology and fluorescence microscopy.
