I am originally from small-town southern Ontario. I completed my PhD in biochemistry at the University of Ottawa with Xiaohui Zha before moving to the University of Wisconsin-Madison for a postdoctoral fellowship in the lab of Ed Chapman (HHMI). I originally joined the department of Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine at WVU as an assistant professor in 2022 and then relocated to the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Guelph in 2026.  

Outside the lab: trail running, gravel biking, dog walks, listening to/playing music, reading books, petting cats, lifting heavy things
